Love has this way of finding its path in this world. It seems like a paper airplane puffing and twirling through gusts of wind, and then dropping quickly before finding another path to take on a gentle stream of air. Never predictable, but yet whimsical and romantic. As Nicole and Alex headed out to a bar with their friends one night they could have never predicted what was about to happen next.
Nicole and Alex both ventured out to a newly renovated bar in downtown Las Vegas with their respective groups of friends. Upon arriving; however, they both realized that they were going to spend their night feeling very out of place. That is, until one of their mutual friends introduced them to one another, and it was then that the romance began. In a sea of a slightly younger generation wearing nothing but black; two strangers, both wearing orange, sat down to have the first conversation that would lead to the rest of their lives together.
They both knew that there was something special happening that night, and Alex was definitely not going to let this beautiful woman slip out of his life. Just five minutes into the conversation Alex asked Nicole out on their first official date… and just hours later, he texted his friend that he had just met his wife. They went out for dinner that following Wednesday, and then again on Friday of the same week. And just like that, love floated right into their lives, and neither of them could feel any luckier to have met such a wonderful person.
Okay, but seriously, Nicole… just stop. No, really… don’t stop. Keep it coming, love!
Alex said something to me before we started shooting their engagement photos that made me so incredibly excited to be a part of this moment. He said that for years he had watched his friends get engaged, and that their engagement photos were always such a big deal. And he told me that he had wondered when it was going to be his turn… as we walked he lightly touched the small of Nicole’s back… and then a smile perched on the corner of his lip, and he didn’t even have to say it, but he did… He said that he couldn’t believe that this was finally happening for him. That he was taking engagement photos that day with Nicole.
And I had to hold myself together for fear of turning into a puddle of mush right there at their feet.
Nicole and Alex are going to be married later this spring at the Four Seasons here in Las Vegas. I am willing to bet that with the gorgeous style these two have… it’s going to be a pretty amazing event.
The walkways that bridge over the Las Vegas strip are one of my favorite places to shoot. And when you have a couple who will dance for you like nobody is watching… it is nothing short of breathtaking.
You guys are just so crazy beautiful. I can’t wait to photograph your wedding! It is going to be simply phenomenal!! Thank you so much for allowing me to spend the day with you!! xo.
