Santa Barbara Engagement Shoot :: Brittney & Mike

I will blog about my experience at United, but this isn’t that blog.  That blog will need some marinating as I will have to find the words that fit.  If said words exist.  To say that it was amazing is an understatement.  To say that it was life-changing is yet to be determined.  Inspirational, yes.  Moving, yes.  Does it make me want to change my life, yes.  But first I need to make those changes.  I am bothered by the idea that I was equally as inspired, moved, and motivated for change last year, yet… I got in my own way, and those changes weren’t made.  So, this isn’t that post. Yet.

This is a post; however, about part of United.  I had the insane pleasure of teaching a group of 20 or so photographers how I shoot engagement photos in order to keep the subjects moving and capture genuine emotions during the shoot.  The amount of photographers who showed up for my shoot was, in a word, astonishing… but moreover; the amount of TALENT in one small area of Santa Barbara was jaw-dropping.  I am completely humbled and honored to call myself a member of this crew of people.

Brittney and Mike were seriously roped into this shoot at the very last minute.  The couple who had been arranged for the shoot didn’t end up making it to the event, so I was scrambling at the last minute to find a replacement.  Brittney & Mike really didn’t have a choice seeing as how I basically handcuffed and dragged them to the shoot.  (jokes, kind of.)  No, for reals, they did an amazing job, and I could not have asked for a better shoot!!

I am excited to show some beautiful images of them!!

xo.
