I was introduced to Jasmine Star's blog by one of my good friends. Upon my friend's suggestion I sauntered over to Jasmine's blog and instantly -- yes, instantly -- I was in blog heaven. The design to Jasmine's blog is killer. And the writing is just divine. The photos.... um, yeah... the photos make me swoon!!!
So I've followed Jasmine for a couple of years, and have tried several times to register for her workshops. People, they sell out in like... an hour. Not kidding. So of course, you can only imagine my excitement when I filled out yet another registration form and within 24 hours saw an email in my inbox FROM JASMINE STAR!! The subject line read -- "You're in!!" My chin dropped. My heart raced. My stomach flipped and flopped. I paid the registration fee within about .03 milliseconds of receiving the e-mail, and that was that. My life had changed. I was going to the Jasmine Star workshop.
The next month and a half dragged on and on and on and on... luckily I went to a mixer in SoCal that was put on by Jasmine and her fantastic hubs, JD. This way I got to meet Jasmine a little bit earlier than the workshop... so you know... I wouldn't faint at the sight of her on the workshop day. I figured that if I fainted at the mixer I at least wouldn't miss any of the presentation at the workshop. Ha!
Finally, May 24th rolled around and I could finally hop in the car towards SoCal. All of the attendees met up for dinner the night before which was FANTASTIC. I loved getting to meet so many new people and connect with some people who didn't give me the crazy eye when I said words like aperture, f-stop, and ISO.
The workshop was killer. Jasmine was literally an open book. She answered anything that was thrown at her, but more importantly her answers were honest. She gave us some insight into how she runs her business from every angle, and we also got to go out on a shoot. Luckily... the models for the shoot were the ever-wonderful Gabriel and Carlie who took my marketing photos, our family photos, and mine and Fraser's redo-wedding photos last October!! It was awesome to see these guys, and I will definitely be blogging the photos from the shoot later.
For now, here are a few photos from the details of the workshop, and of Jasmine... being fabulous, as Jasmine always is...
