Niki's Belly: Sneak Peak

Technically, I guess you could call them high school sweethearts, or at least, Brad is Niki's high school sweetheart. You see, Niki was that girl. She was the girl that had the hot older boyfriend, the one who was in (insert 'gasp' here) college. He was a baseball player, and on his team, he was that guy. The guy who was dating the 16 year old. Nobody ever thought it would last. It did.

Niki finally finished high school, and they decided to both come to Las Vegas to attend UNLV. That is where our paths crossed. I don't remember the first day that I met Niki, but what I do remember is how envious I always was of her. Gorgeous. Funny. Smart. What's not to envy? Brad and my then boyfriend (soon-to-be husband) became closer friends each time that they said goodbye to one of their teammates, and Niki and I grew closer as our lives became more and more intertwined. It seemed that at the end of day, we were the only ones left. We got sucked in by the abyss that is Las Vegas, and we never left. We became each others family.

We watched as the other graduated, got married, got Masters degrees, started careers, and now we're watching our families grow. Watching Brad and Niki morph from husband and wife to mommy and daddy is breathtaking. The look on both of their faces when they talk about their little girl is ethereal. I can not wait for them to share in the joy that we found a little over a year ago. To love a child is like nothing else. The glow that we see now will only be magnified in the coming months. Brad and Niki are my family, and the chance to capture these precious moments in their lives; the chance to make my family's memories last forever is the epitome of everything this photography business stands for.

Hurry up and bake that little girl, Niki... we're all dying to see her!! Love you both, and will soon love all three. ~~ Jo

Julie's Belly : Sneak Peak

Julie used to stand at my desk and chat. Sometimes, we'd chat until we got caught by my boss. He'd give me the eyebrow raise that meant business, then she'd give me an eyebrow raise that meant crrrap! Isn't it funny how the same eyebrow gesture can mean two completely different things?? Back then I didn't think it was too funny since I was the one getting all the raisings!

Julie has since switched law firms, and I obviously don't work there anymore either. Our lives drifted in separate directions until Facebook Frenzie took over the internet world!! Julie and I met for lunch, and we chatted for hours, not worrying this time about any eyebrow raises; except maybe from our waitress who was sick of listening to us drag on with our 'oh, no ways' and our screeching 'seriouslys' as we caught up on each others' lives.

During our criminal acts of chatting in the office, I remember hearing about mysterious boyfriend with no name #1, and then mysterious boyfriend with a nickname #2. I knew that Chris was different from the beginning, not because of the way that Julie lit up when she talked about him, or how I could feel the butterflies flapping *outside* of her stomach, but because I got to hear his name. Julie was always one to keep a few things private during our chats, but when I heard the story of how her and Chris finally got together (sidebar: to all of those thinking that blind dates are horrible, talk to Julie) GUSHING out of her; I knew that Julie had found her other half... and he had a name.

Julie and Chris are now expecting the first addition to their family, and she has a name too! Be expecting pictures of her soon, but for now, enjoy some shots from their maternity shoot. Of course, I never give away the prize winning pig on the blog, so make sure to check up on the website soon for Julie and Chris' full shoot.

I had a blast guys! I wish you a very happy, safe, and EVENTFUL delivery!! See you soon.
