Little Girls are Made of Sugar and Spice...

You can generally tell how busy my weekend has been by how loud the dishes are clinking together from being thrown into the dishwasher by my husband on a Sunday night... last night they were CLASHING!!

I was running around like a mad woman this weekend! Saturday morning I had a maternity shoot with a beautiful woman named Erin. She is a soon-to-be mamma that is as glowing and bubbly and happy as they come!! Her and her soon-to-be husband, Frank, are soooo in love with one another. I practically couldn't get them to stop kissing each other to take some pictures!! Frank adores Erin. He so lovingly would graze his hand across the small of her back as he walked by, or each fleeting moment in between shots he would be caressing her body or kissing the crevice of her neck. He was in awe of her; struck by her beauty. Erin, you are so lucky to have found such a wonderful man... wrap him up and take him to-go!! ;o)

Here are some of MY favorite shots of the day....

On Saturday night we went to a Halloween party, which added to the chaos of the weekend. I was a milk maid, my husband was my cow, and my little boy was our farm dog!! I'll upload some good pictures later!! So... we were out late that night, and I was dragging the next morning. My dragging was not hindered by any sort of hangover... just a lack-of-sleep-over!! So I pushed back the shoot that I had that morning because I didn't wake up early enough to make some lighting changes to the studio. So I drug my ever-so-supportive husband to Home Depot to work out some kinks. I got back to the house and I'm racing around to try and get some lights hung, but then at the end of the hour we didn't have the right kind of extension cord... UGH!! Whoever made the three prong plug-ins after the two prong was already invented, or vice versa... I loathe you!!

So, the newborn shoot started with my studio looking exactly the same as it did the day before... nonetheless I had a BLAST. Little miss Madison Cora was born about 5 weeks early. Some of my other veteren clients are her parents who did a maternity shoot with me back when Sweet Life Photography wasn't even a company yet!! Anyhow, little Madison is a doll. Literally, she isn't bigger than a doll. I was tempted to grab a ruler and stick it next to her in a shot just so that everybody had proof of how little she really is!! I wanted to keep her... if I keep doing these newborn shoots I'm going to have a dozen kids and there is going to be a special about the photographer with 12 kids on TLC!!!

Here are some sweet shots of Madison, but I don't have all of the photos edited yet, so I might be tempted to post some more later!!

6 Months Down, Many More To Go!!

I got to do a shoot on Saturday that I loved!! I loved it because I got to see some of my first clients... they are Sweet Life veterens!! Little Diego was already a 'model' in my Sweet Beginnings gallery, but now he's making his second appearance!! This was supposed to be a family shoot, but unfortunately dad was sick!! We've scheduled a time to do some family photos, so on Saturday I got to focus on just Diego!! He's a doll!! I can't believe how much he's grown!! Here's a 3-month photo...
And now here he is at 6 months...

I could just eat him up!! Thank you to J & A for letting me capture some photos of your growing boy!! I had sooooo much fun :o) Here's one more quick side-by-side comparison!!

New Friends and Old

I get so excited to meet the people that I am shooting because I feel as though I have either known them for a long time, and they are already friends, so I get to spend some time with them; or I feel as though I've known them forever because we've been e-mailing back and forth trying to get the details of the shoot worked out!! Either way, I feel as though I get to spend time with friends each weekend; old and new.

This past weekend I got to meet a beautiful family. This bunch of wonderful people have just welcomed a new baby into their family, and my job was to get a good shot of the two children for the birth announcement. In the process of capturing a few tender moments I got to meet an energetic, curious, and friendly little boy. His need for excitement and his sense of adventure fits the mold of a little boy to a 'T'. I also got to meet the newest addition of the family; a two week old beautiful baby girl. She was so sweet. Just like a perfect little doll.

I also had the opportunity to meet up with some old friends who just got ENGAGED!! As we sat in the coffee shop to warm up before our early morning shoot out at Lake Las Vegas, I listened to the propoal story. Although the story was endearing; what I listened to more was their body language, and the way that they were already beginning to finish each other's sentences. During the shoot it was evident through, not only the lens of my camera, but also through the eyes of each person who may have witnessed parts of the shoot, that these two people are in love. I wish them nothing but the best while traveling this new road together.
